The IPL Auction 2025 is set to take place on November 24-25, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where franchises will compete to bolster their squads. This year’s auction has seen 1,574 players registering, including 1,165 Indian players and 409 overseas players out of which 320 are capped players. There are 204 vacant slots to be filled across all teams, with each allowed a squad size of a maximum of 25 players.

Marquee players such as KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Shami, and Yuzi Chahal, along with international stars like Australian pacer Mitchell Starc, Nathan Lyon and Jofra Archer (who last played in the IPL 2023 season), have all set their base prices at INR 2 Cr in the auction.

On November 1st, the IPL 2025 retentions were announced, with RR and KKR retaining all six players. Teams with fewer than six retained players can use their Right to Match options to preserve their core from the previous season.
